670. Signs

I usually keep a look-out for signs. When I recall the times that I’ve gotten lost, I usually do so for a number of reasons. I get distracted. I intentionally decide to follow a different way. “Gee, the map shows a trail cutting across land here, I’ll try it.” Or, I unintentionally follow a public footpath, a horse trail, or simply a cow or sheep trail. I know that sounds strange, but I sometimes get confused when crossing large open fields.

On this trip, I’ve not yet really worried about getting lost. The signs are plentiful; fellow walkers are always helpful; and much of the walk is within sight of a village or collection of buildings such as coastguard watch stations.

Since I keep a look-out for signs, I also notice the non-path related signs that I pass. They exhibit the typical range from information to instructions to prohibitions. I don’t see advertising signs!!

Here are some of the usual and unusual signs that I see. Enjoy!
