Street artists are defiant. Many street artists shun and scorn the wealthy and elitist “gallery art.” Often, they cross the boundary of ownership, the private space is no longer private. Instead, that space becomes public canvas. As a result, some street artists are arrested for defying that boundary.

With all the serious actions and themes, I might think that there is nothing playful to street artists. Not the case.

Some street artists simply want us to enjoy their combination of colors and shapes. And, the contrast between the art which shows a world that can exist, and the world that exists right next to the composition.

Others are striking. A woman’s face. A close-up of a “Seven eyed Tigers.”

Some of their work wants to put us in a world of cartoon characters.

Some of their work simply wants us to enjoy beauty found in world around us, from people like Audrey Hepburn to a Carly Simon song.

The artist is right “And the good ones are a little crazy!”
